Jasper County Schools

Due to current road conditions throughout the county, Jasper County School District will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27, 2026. All school activities, events, and athletics are also cancelled.

Due to the inclement weather that we are currently experiencing, there will be no school for Jasper County Schools on Monday, January 26, 2026. All practices, activities, and games are cancelled for tomorrow.

Christmas Break

The December Regular Board of Education meeting will be held on December 15, 2025 at the JCCU #1 Administrative Office, located at 1401 Clayton Ave., Newton, IL. The meeting agenda can be found here: https://aptg.co/j6ttP-.

Although the main highways are clear, the country roads are still slick at this time. The Jasper County School District will be closed on December 12, 2025. All practices and games will be decided by noon today.

Dear parents and guardians,

Today at Newton Elementary School, we evacuated the school due to the fire alarm going off. Once the alarm goes off, this triggers a response from the Wade Township Fire Department. We wanted to make sure you were aware of what took place today as members of the community may have noticed emergency vehicles around our campus.

At this time, all students are out of the building and in their designated evacuation spots. The Wade Township Fire Department and Newton Elementary Administration has found that a pull station fire alarm had been activated without reason.

At the beginning of the school year, the District practices for such an emergency. The students did an excellent job leaving the building and now have returned to class!
