Good day! I would like to take this opportunity to let you know that we are all aware of the heat wave heading our way this week. The District will continue to do everything within our power to look out for the health and safety of our students and staff. The District buildings do have air conditioning, but with temperatures in the 90’s rooms may be warmer than usual. Students need to dress appropriately for the high temperatures while being cognizant of the expectations of attire for school. Students are encouraged to bring water bottles to school as water breaks throughout the day can be taken as needed.
As for extracurricular activities, we will continue to monitor the outdoor temperatures. The District will follow the IHSA guidelines for outdoor activities for both the junior high and high school. If the guidelines state that activities need to be canceled, then we will reschedule those activities for a later date. We will continue to monitor the weather as the week progresses. Our top priority is the health and safety of your child.
